Weekly Bulletin 18/01/19

Weekly Bulletin In addition to regular website updates, termly newsletter and frequent Twitter news, as from the beginning of this term we will produce a weekly School Bulletin to keep everyone updated on the events of the forthcoming week, reminders, school news and dates for the diary. The School Bulletin will be sent to parents via School Comms. The Bulletin will be published every Friday and, in addition to the School Comms message, it will also be uploaded on the school website.

WORKING AT THE NORTH SCHOOL

At the North School we aim to maximise the potential and future life chances of all our students and have extremely high expectations both inside and outside the classroom.  We have a traditional ethos centred around our belief that students should be able to learn in a well ordered and engaging environment and that they should attempt all their work to the very best of their ability.

We are very proud of our collaboration with the Swale Academies Trust and together with the Trust we work relentlessly to continually improve the school experience for all our students.

TEACHING VACANCIES: 

 

Subject Leader : Geography (required for Sept 2019)

The North School is looking to appoint a dynamic, ambitious and inspirational teacher to lead our excellent Geography department.  The successful candidate will work with the departmental staff to ensure that the quality of teaching is at its very best, leading on new learning and teaching innovations in the subject, helping to facilitate all staff in the department to discuss their teaching and develop new techniques. 

In return we offer candidates access to our excellent internal CPD programme, outstanding teacher programmes; outstanding leadership programme and our shadow leadership scheme and will support an SLE application for the right candidate.

Applicants should possess excellent communication and organisational skills, be hard working, flexible and professional.  They should have high expectations of students, colleagues and self, displaying energy and enthusiasm in and out of the classroom, contributing to the school’s overall success.  A willingness to contribute to other areas of school life would be welcome.

Cover Supervisor - 37hrs per week, term time only plus 5 training days.

Kent Range 5 : £18,059 - £19,863 per annum pro rata (pro rata salary £15,238 - £16,761)

We are seeking to appoint an enthusiastic, positive and committed person to join our highly regarded student support team within the school, supervising whole classes in the absence of a teacher, undertaking pre-prepared activities provided by a teacher.

Cover Supervisors oversee work that has been set in accordance with school policy and are expected to manage the behaviour of students throughout the lesson.

If you have experience with working with children and are confident in managing and maintaining a focused environment, you will excel in working as part of this team. 

This job allows for a large amount of autonomy in the classroom and would suit a person looking for an exciting and rewarding job, possibly before embarking further in a career in teaching.

Administrative Co-Ordinator for SEN/Safeguarding - 37hrs per week, term time only plus 20 additional days.

The North School is seeking an enthusiastic and experienced Administrator to join our SEN team.  The successful applicant will be able to provide effective administrative support for the Special Educational Needs Co-ordinator (SENCo) / Designated Safeguarding Lead (DSL) and the school’s SEN/AEN department.

We are looking for an enthusiastic and caring individual to take responsibility for providing a safe and secure atmosphere over the lunchtime periods.  You will need to be a calm, responsible person who enjoys being in the company of older children.
