A Level Results

18/08/17

Our year 13 students had good cause to celebrate on Thursday when they picked up another great set of A level results.

Against a fairly static national picture, our results showed an improvement on last year’s performance in every possible measure, leaving several of our students delighted at how well they had done.

While everyone did well, our top scoring student was Jess Bonfield, who achieved an A* in psychology, an A in English Literature and a B in law. Jess is going on to study psychology at Southampton.

More than three-quarters of our students achieved A* - C grades (or equivalent), and almost half attained A*- B grades (or equivalent).

“This is a testament to the hard work of the students and staff over the past two years,” commented Nicki Hodges, Head of School.

“It reflects a focus on intervention, a culture of high expectation, the support of other schools within Swale Academies Trust and the hard work of teachers and pupils alike.”

Others doing particularly well were Grace Diddams (A,B,B),  Ed Warburton (B,B,C), Louise McLatchie (B,C,C,D), Ben Hirst (B, Dist*, Dist*) and Lauren Best (Dist*, B,C).

A large number of students have applied for university places this year, and all of them have been offered conditional or unconditional places at universities including Kent, Southampton, Oxford Brookes, De Montfort, Surrey, Brunel and Greenwich.
